The Greenville Red Raiders banged out 16 hits in five innings to defeat the Blythewood Bengals in the 2015 South Carolina Diamond Invitational at Blythewood High School.

Chandler Henderson had a 3-run home run for Blythewood. Jordan Black earned the other RBI for the Bengals.

The Blythewood Bengals rebounded from their opening game loss in the 2015 South Carolina Diamond Invitational to defeat the River Bluff Gators 4-0. Junior Justin Greider went the distance on the mound for the Bengals to earn the complete game shutout. Greider scattered four hits over seven innings while striking out six Gator batters.

The Bengals were led offensively by senior Andrew Crook. Crook hit a solo home run to give the Bengals and Greider all of the runs they’d need. Justin Lang-Spittler, Jordyn Adams, Barrette Grant, and Todd Mattox each had hits for Blythewood.

The Blythewood Bengals fell to the Lexington Wildcats in Game #2 of the 2015 South Carolina Diamond Invitational at Blythewood High School. Cordes Baker struck out 12 Bengal batters to earn the complete game victory.

Seniors Chandler Henderson and Andrew Crook each had two hits for the Bengals. Jordyn Adams and Justin Lang-Spittler also had hits for Blythewood.

The Blythewood Bengal offense erupted for 8 runs in the third inning to cruise to an 11-2 victory over the visiting Ridge View Blazers. Barrette Grant and Andrew Crook each had two hits for Blythewood (7-2).

Toby Robson started the game on the mound for Blythewood and earned the victory. Robson gave up one earned run while striking out five.

Chandler Henderson had a hit and drove in two runs for Blythewood. Jacob Davis and Barrette Grant each scored two runs for the Bengals.

Casey Poole and Dru Chambers each had two hits for Ridge View.

Blythewood will play at A.C. Flora this Saturday at noon.

It turned out to be a marathon affair at Spring Valley Tuesday night, but the Bengals outlasted the Spring Valley Vikings to earn the 2-1 region victory in 18 innings. Hunter Lomas pitched the last eight innings, striking out seven Spring Valley hitters, to earn the victory. Lomas also delivered the game-winning RBI single in the top of the 18th inning.

Jordyn Adams and Todd Mattox each had three hits for Blythewood. Barrette Grant, Justin Greider, Kaazim Dharas, and Tripper Ergle contributed two hits a piece to the Bengal effort.

Justin Greider pitched 5.33 innings, striking out 12 batters. Jacob Davis made his first start of the year, striking out three batters.

The Bengals saw hits from Ashley Gilstrap, Grace Campbell, Taylor Brown, and Maggie Herrera. The Bengals look to rebound against Ridge View on Thursday at Blythewood.
